All about the Berlin Wall

Pupil resource

    What's it all about?

It’s 30 years since the fall of the Berlin Wall, marking the reuniting of Germany. After the Second World War, Germany was split in two and the Berlin Wall was used to stop movement between the east and west.

In this feature, you and your pupils will learn:

    • Why the wall was built.

    • What this meant for the people of Berlin.

    • How its fall marked the end of communism.

The Berlin Wall was a symbol of division in Europe during the Cold War. Download this FREE article to use as a starting point for your teaching about the outcomes of the Second World War.
